Just Say 'Yes.'

Rewritten From e-mail

She was a cheerleader in high school , but those days are long gone. But what isn't gone is my wife bragging about the days when she was hot and guys were always after her.

That included me at one point. But that day is also long gone.

Now she just keeps reminding me how guys still think she's hot.

Apparently there are a couple guys at her work that have been trying to get in her pants and to keep their attention, she has been leading them on.

A week ago she started telling me about this guy that was hitting on her. I was trying to concentrate on some stuff I had to do and I really didn't want to listen to that.

Finally, I gave up and said, "What's he want?"

I hadn't ask that before, it was supposed to be evident, but she quickly came up with an answer: "To get in my pants."

"Do you want to shut him up?"

"Yes."

"Let him."

She hadn't expected this answer. "I couldn't do that, I'm married."

Of course being married didn't stop her from taking their calls. I said, "Don't you think that would shut him up?"

She seemed flustered. "I guess."

"So you have your answer."

Unfortunately, these guys got our home number. She says she didn't give it out but since it's unlisted, she had to.

I've listened to some of the conversations; she subtly flirts with these guys to keep them interested.

I should be jealous but I can see that all she wants is attention from guys.

She now spends an inordinate amount of time looking through old photo albums of that perky, read-headed cheerleader she used to be.

This one time the guy that had been bugging her called right in the middle of a game I was watching. My wife was in the other room watching another channel, so I thought this would be a good time to try to throw a wrench in things.

In my most convincing voice I told him that my wife thought he was hot and he should ask her out.

I waited to see how he took that. I could tell he hadn't been expecting this. "Where do you think she would like to go?"

I said, "To a bar for a few drinks and then to your place. There is this other guy that's been after her, but she likes you better -- if you move fast enough."

I could tell that he was debating wither this was a joke designed to make a fool out of him. There was along pause while he tried to regain his footing. "And then what?"

"Do what you want to do; get her into bed."

There was a long pause. "Aren't you her husband?"

"She's too much for me, so I thought you could help out."

"This is a sick joke, isn't it!"

"I'll tell her it's okay. She'll be waiting for your call. Her cell number is __ . If you don't ask her out this other guy will."

He said, "I've got to go," and hung up.

My wife had heard me on the phone and when her program went into commercials she came in and asked who it was. I told her it was one of her boyfriends and that he was going to ask her out.

When she established that I wasn't kidding, she asked, "So if he asks me out what am I supposed to say?"

"Just say 'yes.' "

"And then what?"

"He'll invite you to his place for a couple hours. Give him what he wants."

"Are you serious?"

"It's the only way you can get him to stop bugging us."

"And you said I would go out with him?"

"I sort of suggested you would, but it's up to you. You say you want to stop him from bugging you and this would do it."

"I can't believe you said I would go out with him."

"Just say 'yes' "

The next time she started telling me how a guy was flirting with her I said, 'Just say 'yes.' "

And I kept saying, 'Just say 'yes,' whenever she brought it up.

Soon, she stopped telling me how guys were after her.
